Create more than you consume
Participating and putting into practice what we learn should be an important part of our path here. Especially in the future. The more you create, the more connections your brain brings, and this will be helpful in producing a community or even a learning process. One interesting concept is to parallel consumption and financial terms. Imagine that when you:
- Consume, you "pay", like a passive.
- While, when you create, you "invest". Like an asset.
Like any passive or asset, things take time to pile up and make a significant difference. You may watch youtube videos for a couple days, see a few movies on Netflix or Amazon, but then you're just enjoying time. While the people you admire build more the videos or movies you consume.
There is one concept from Scott Galloway about the Algebra of Happiness. One of the principles of the video is that Sweating vs. Watching
.
Show me a guy who watches ESPN every night and spends all day on Sunday watching football and doesn't work out. And I will show a future of anger and failed relationships.
Show me someone who sweats every day and spends as much time participating in sports events as watching them on TV, and I will show you someone who is good in life.
Are you sweating more than watching sports?
You own to your future self
This makes us understand more than just reading about it may not be the right path for the happiness that we might believe in. Participating, putting into practice what we consume should be an important part of our path here. Especially in the future. The more you create, the more connections your brain brings to have and this will be helpful to produce a community or even a learning process.
Imagine all the networks that you might do, how much all your articles and videos could help other people, intend of just adding more hours of blog articles or podcasts in your ride.
